Craft Aotearoa

On Thursday we launched our new Charitable Trust Craft Aotearoa.    This exciting event was held at the same time as the Kete Exhibition in Wellington.

The crowd attending were excited by the launch and came from all over New Zealand.   The attendance and the people there reinforced the need for a Nation wide Craft organisation.

The Director Jenna-Lea Philpott uses social networks - a blog and a face book page both in the name of Craft Aotearoa to attract considerable support.    I am so proud to be its Chairperson.   craftaotearoa.blogspot.com

Your own wedding

If you are planning a wedding then you need to think about what you really want as a couple.

Making a check list helps.      Do you want it to be small and private or large and showy, or do you want just a few friends in your front room or in a park.

Beach and Park weddings can be so perfect.     Had you thought of having your wedding against a sunset on the beach.   That can be so beautiful.

So if you want to plan a wedding in New Zealand, but particularly in Wellington, Waikanae or the Kapiti Coast give me a ring or email.     penny.eames@paradise.net.nz

Cultural Economics

The Cultural Economics Conference in Kyoto Japan was very stimulating.    I expected the best papers to be about cultural capital and the measurement of this, but found some of the other papers more interesting.     On on the role of Libraries after E books was possibly the best.

The role of the Library as the third place, the hub of the community, the information sharing place and a political centre for understanding local civics.

My speech is in full on http/:artsaccessinternational.org under the heading of Cultural Economics and also on my www.pseconsultancy.com  website.
